Snippage X's 2 continued....

by elvisandmojo on 4/15/2009 at 7:14 AM in Progress

I picked up the boys last night at 7:30 p.m. and both were still groggy from the surgery. Got them home and carried them up the stairs (one at a time of course) and they went right to bed with eyes still rolling around from being exhausted. I'm sure it was a long day for them as well.

Bob told me they were up around 2:30 a.m. which I was surprised to hear as I had given them their pain meds shortly after putting them in their crates. Up again at 5:30 this morning and raring to go. I couldn't believe it.

Doctor's orders are to limit their activity for 10 days, no baths for 2 weeks so I had to write this down on the calendar. They are not thrilled with Mama as I have only been letting them out of the crates for short periods of time until they get a little wound up and then it is time for rest.

Elvis figured out how to open the crate to free his brother this morning as well. I guess I didn't have the latch pushed in the down position and he somehow got the door to open. Let's hope he doesn't turn into a Houdini on me.

They were doing the stairs fine this morning but were whimpering quite a bit afterwards. Seeing how hubby is recovering from an emergency appendectomy still I told him to just go ahead and let them do the stairs by themselves. They can rest after potty breaks.

Some licking but we are working on stopping that as soon as we notice. Since the laser surgery was done we are hoping for quick healing.

Snippage X's 2

by elvisandmojo on 4/14/2009 at 3:15 PM in Progress

Dropped the starving dogs off at 8:15 at the vet this morning for their scheduled neutering and have found that by 3:30 this afternoon they still have not had their surgeries. I'm sure my beasts are starved and probably out of their minds with worry.

Mojo weighed in at 39.6 (which is the lower priced rate) and Elvis was at 41.2 (which is going to move him into the next higher price bracket). We couldn't give them anything but water after 9 p.m. last night so this morning they were all out of sorts as they didn't get their 5:30 feeding.

Now I think with the surgery going to occur so late in the day that they will end up staying the night. I almost hope this to be the case so that they can watch them. I was supposed to be able to pick them up after work.

So this puppy mom is turning into a bundle of nerves and irritation. I wonder if their barks will be higher after this.
