The Zolton Chronicles: The Last Days with Buddy

We just put down our most amazing newf-lab buddy on Thursday. He was 12 years and 4 months and we had adopted him from a rescue shelter in Albany, NY. We weren't planning on going to Albany but I had posted on the internet my wish for such a mix. Twelve years ago there were no "Labralounds" or any such formal, designer breeds. We are devastated and I only want another dog that has newf in him though I don't want a pure newfoundland. Our Zolton was about the size of a lab but had a long coat which I kept regularly groomed in the summer. He had a bear-head like a newf, not a skinny head like a lab. Can you tell that I don't LOVE pure labs? I mean they are perfectly lovely dogs however not until you have a dog who is part newf will you realize how special the mix is.
I am looking for another puppy so if anyone knows of any that look like my baby, I'm so interested. We live in eastern Pennsylvania but have a house on the lower Chesapeake Bay which was Zolton's favorite place in the world. It just won't be the same going there this summer.

Well I did my agility run yesterday. I had a blast it was so much fun. Mommy said I was amazing. I do not care about ribbons and titles I just love doing the agility. It will be a quiet day for me. Mommy likes me to rest after a agility sanctioned run. We are going to spend the day with my mommy's mom. I guess that would make her my grandma.
