Living with a Maltipoo
Temperament: Maltipoos are generally spunky, playful, energetic, and protective of their family. They also don't like to be left alone unsupervised alone for long periods of time, this may result in destructive behavior.
Family Dog: Maltipoos make great family dogs. Their style is compatible with almost any person. Maltipoos are very gentle dogs and thus do great with children and the elderly. As with any dog children should be supervised when playing with the dog.
Shedding: Maltipoos are very low shedders due to the low shedding qualities of both of the parent breeds. This makes them a great hypoallergenic choice for people with dog allergies.
Grooming: Maltipoos typically need groomed every month or so. They should be brushed regularly to avoid mats in their coat.
Training: Maltipoos are very smart, capable, and always eager to learn new tricks.
Exercise: Maltipoos should have daily exercise. In good weather Maltipoos enjoy an outside walk, otherwise indoor exercise and playing will suit them fine.

Size: Maltipoos, depending on the type, are ususally around 10 - 14 inches tall and 2 to 12 pounds when fully grown. The teacup Maltipoo will be under 4 pounds when they reach adulthood. The Tiny Toy Maltipoos is the middle size, ranging from 4 to 6 pounds when fully grown. The most common is the Toy Maltipoo weighing between 6 to 12 pounds when fully grown.
Color: Maltipoos come in a wide range of colors. The lighter colors such a white are the most common.
Coat: Maltipoos have a soft, fluffy coat that is ususally wavy or curly in nature.
