Mulder the Chipoo
I got Mulder from a shelter. They happened to have all his information from his previous owner. That's how I found out that he's a Chipoo.
He is a very active dog that loves to play with his toys and Anya, his big sister who is a cocker spaniel. He loves to snuggle at night and has a special place on the bed right next to me. He wakes my up with kisses every morning. He rarely barks and never ever whines. In fact I had him almost 2 weeks before I heard him make a sound. Mulder loves to be with me, but if I'm not home he will snuggle with my fiancee or his son. He adores James, my step-son. He will check on him before he goes to bed and when he wakes up. He plays with him every chance he gets. Mulder still has some chewing issues, but they are getting better. He did a bit of damage after moving, but he's used to the house now and has settled down. He is crate trained and doesn't mind being in there at all. We don't really us it anymore as Anya keeps him company if we are not here. He travels well and loves the car. He has been back and forth across the border several times and loves it. He wears his seat belt, but when we stop he's ready to get out of it. I would get another Chipoo in a second. He's a great dog and loves to be with me. This pup has been such a sweet animal. I highly recommend this type of dog to allergy sufferers. My friend is allergic to dogs and cats. She has this pup up around her neck hugging away with no problems.

My daughter just brought home a Chipoo puppy. I would love to hear from other owners of Chipoos. We also have a 9 year old Cockapoo. So far, not too much conflict. Hoping they become friends.

I too own a Chipoo and he is by far the best dog I have ever known. I got him when he turned six weeks and he had already been potty trained. Talk about a relief I didn't have to do anything he would bark at night to let me know when he had to go. The previous owners said he was very easy to train and I can believe it. He is one of the smartest dogs I have ever known. He does like to bark alot but it is in fun, except to my neighbor. He will growl at him and doesn't like him one bit but has never tried to go after him. He is alot of fun to have around. Even my husband likes him and he was not a dog person at all but to have a dog who is as smart and loving as him how could anyone resist. I would recommend this type of dog if you are looking for something low maintenance or looking to just have some companion. I love my little man and I wouldn't trade him for anything. He is a part of my life and all my children love him. He's the best.

oh my gosh I was so happy to see there is actually a web site for my puppy. I own a male white poodle and a female chocolate colored chihuhua and they made the cutest babies!!! Her first litter was 3 babies all born looking like mom then they started to get long wire like hair. Very very crazy looking. Everyone wanted them, so they were released to great homes and are living the high life. A year later she had 2 more babies all looking the same way and I gave one away to a close friend and the other is mom's little man, he is the sweetest 4 pound dog you have ever seen, He loves to cuddle and love and when I come home from work he greets me with a little howl, everytime as if he is saying hello. He does tend to bark alot, at birds, at the wind when the leaves blow at every person who comes over even the people he knows!
He gets along great with his mom and dad, But does not like when my friends or family bring over the puppies from the past litter or even his sister. I do have a 9 year own daugher who loves to play with him, and normally he will put up with her but when he has had enough he lets her know but nipping her, he has never bit down but he does warn her. As a baby he loved to sleep in my neck on my shoulder, at about 3 months he decided he wanted to sleep on the pillow in between my husband and I and he likes to be on his back feet up in the air. I would like to ask any one if there chipoo's tail is almost the same length as his body because when my little norman get excited his but kind of curvse towards his head and his tail smacks him in the face. OMG he is so cute I will post pictures soon now that I found this web site. My husband and I own two of the most wonderful Chipoos in the world. If you have looked around much on this site or read the blogs you have probably come accros mention of them (Lacey & Logan). They are both sweet loving dogs with HUGE personalities. Lacey can be somewhat tempermental at times if Logan is trying to take a toy or do something she doesn't like. She likes to growl at him to let him know to stop, but it is always a playful growl. Logan is such a playful dog. His favorite pasttime is playing fetch. He will bring you the toy and set it on your leg and if you don't throw it in about two seconds he will nudge it or flip it up farther into your lap to be sure you can see it:). If you are too busy to play with him at the moment he will entertain himself by throwing the end of his rawhide bone around the room and boy can he throw it. He has landed it on the coffee table a few times and almost made it onto our counter the other day. If he is not doing that he also like to bury himself under any blanket he can fine. I have read that this is a very prominent Chihuahua trait. I hear a log of bad things about mixed dogs, but I would not trade these two for a million bucks!
