Our Jack-A-Bee

My wife and I have had our Jack-A-Bee Josie for almost a year now. We adopted her from an animal shelter in KY where we lived at the time. We had been searching for a dog for a while and the second we saw her face, we knew she was the dog for us. We went and adopted her that same day.

She's one of the sweetest dog's I've ever had. She's got a TON of energy and I try and run her in our backyard everyday (weather permitting) and she loves it. We've got a creek near our house that she'll drink out of, but doesn't like to go in the water. She's quick and loves to chase the rabbits that are in our yard too.

As far as training goes, that has been a little more on the difficult side. She's learned sit, stay, down, wait and off. When we're home she'll run back and forth between our front door when she needs to go out, but if we leave for an extended period of time (i.e. work), she can still have accidents, but she's learning and they are getting to be more rare.

She loves to play and loves to be around us. Crate training is a must when they are puppies. She can reach my shoulder now when she jumps (I'm 6'0''). When she's playing she doesn't want to be held back, but when she's tired or in cuddle mode, she loves to be between my wife and I on the couch snuggled under a blanket.

We love her so much and even with some of the headaches of training, we're so glad we have her.

I own a wonderful Jack-a-bee

His name is Rufus and he is 2 and a half years old. Looks more like a beagle and weighs 25 pounds and is the cutest dog. My husband and I have decided to get another one in the future because they are the dogs we believe are perfect for us.
He is tan-brown, and white. Has MUCH energy and has the cutest little bark howl. He's so loving and affectionate and was easy to train though it's hard to get him not to tug on the leash as he wants to run free!

Jack-a-bees are WONDERFUL dogs. If you get one please be sure to have a back yard for them!

Our Jack-A-Bee

I picked up a Jack-a-bee at the animal shelter for my older dog, and it was the best thing I could have done. I thought she was a bit older, but when I brought her to the vet for her wellness found out she was 1 year to 1 1/2 years. I now think she is more in the 1 year category. She is white with light beige patches on her hair, and has the jack russell spots on her skin. Her skin is very sensative. She is very active. She loves to run, flip, then roll on her back and is full of energy. She has my older dog running for hours at a time. She is loveable, and affectionate. She is a bit skidish which could possibly be from neglect from before She arrived in my life. She is not potty trained but is learning. I had to put diapers on her cause she is a bit hard headed. She loves to jump, and play, and can play for hours on hours at a time.

She is a welcomed addition into our life, and I miss both my dogs when I have to go to work. She looks like a jack russell, and her face has bichon qualities. She has corse thin hair. There is no undercoat with her hair. She weighs about 12 pounds, and loves to eat. Her ears are floppy, and adorable. I keep clothes on her to protect her from the sun. I will also make sure in the winter time she has clothes on since her hair is so thin.

Well, that is all I can think of, but she is such a wonderful dog,and I love her. If you want a dog with energy, a dog which will give you lots of attention, and want to play and keep you laughing and on your toes this is the dog for you. Plus she is very smart and understands what I am saying even if she doesnt want to pay attention at times. As I call it a puppy brain fart where they forget there home schooled training, lol.
