Condensed version is that he was the last animal to come out of our local Humane Society fire alive - 11 hours after the fire started. He was a very small, black puppy that had been easily overlooked when the firefighters searched for survivors. Now he's a big, beautiful dog who's very spoiled and will never be go unnoticed again. Not sure about the Lab Rottie - would like to do DNA testing - maybe chihuaua/lab or some doberman.
