While on the hunt for a different breed altogether, this gorgeous little puppy in a shop window caught my eye. He arrowed in on me despite all the other distrations, and when he did the same to my husband and daughter- I knew he was the one for us! He came home with us that same day and has crossed the world with us. During that crossing, his neck was damaged by the handlers in the company transporting him and he was dropped of to us with full blown pneumonia. He pulled through, but now he couldn't swallow as his neck muscles were partially paralized. The last 3 years have been tough for all of us- but for him especially, and although he is able to swallow better now- he's not fully recovered, and gets pneumonia from asperating his food far too frequently. Despite it all, he amazes me constantly with his great sense of humour, his absoluted dignity and patience with being constanly poked and prodded at the vet (who is awesome BTW) and just gets on with the wonderful business of Living. He's my Role Model whenever I'm tempted to have a whine about something! *grin* Out of all the dogs I've had in my life, he stands out as the most incredible dog I've ever known.
