Toby's Story & Details
Toby is a awesome dog. I couldn't ask for better ( he still needs some training but, noone is perfect lol). I knew I wanted another dog in November of last year I had recently lost my dog that I had for 9 years. We live in the country on 6 acres so it just doesn't feel right not to have a dog. So, I started looking at the local animal shelters for a larger breed dog. We found two gorgeous chocolate lab puppies up for adoption but, by the time I got there they were already adopted so, I went about my way and looked and looked and finally one night I was looking on the website of a different local shelter and saw this adorable one month old puppy named James I told my husband and we agreed that he was the one for us. The next day I called the Henderson Co. Humane Society and they told me that he was currently not there because he was at the local news station being filmed and he would be on the news at 12pm that day! So, they told me to hurry if I wanted to get there in time so that I was the first person for him. I immediately got dressed ( it was a 30 minute drive) and I was on my way when I got there it had not aired yet so I was in luck. They first let me meet him and hold him and I knew I wanted him. He was precious amd so sweet. We did the paper work and Toby, my best friend Jocelyn, and I were on our way to the vet. It's been 4 months now and I love him just as much as I did when I first met him. At his last visit in early February he was 35lbs and healthy He's growing so fast I don't know what to do with him! His next vet visit is in April but, he won't like that one! lol ( he's getting neutered lol) In the end I am thankful we ended up with him he is amazing. He is good with cats, dogs, and kids! I mean what else could you ask for?! We have 4 inside cats so when we got a dog we knew we would have to get a cat friendly dog. He was born in the humane society his mother was a great Pyrenees and his father was a great dane.
