Ok, our boy was born from a litter from our (my husband's and my) Pekingese and his old boss's dog - a japenese chin. I figured his Mother, "Sprinkles" was in labor cuz she scratched at the cage where we kept her for protection in case the puppies were born in the middle of the night, and we didn't want our Lab to accidentally step on them.
Nothing was happening.
We rushed Sprinkles to the hospital, and after a middle of the night C-section, at around 2:30 or so AM we had 5 little darlings....
He was named "Shotzie" for my German Grandma who was born and raised in Berlin, Germany. She called my Grandpa Shotzie, this one stuffed Raccoon, her puppy, etc., so when she passed away, after a couple of months, Shotzie was born,and he thus was named in her honor, not only because he looks and is a Shotzie, everyone who knows him knows that, but to my Grandma, he would have been just that. :)
And now, he is my "Furry Angel from Heaven" because my Husband, who went to be with JESUS young - December 13th, 2009, would have wanted it that way.
Shotzie survived a deadly tick disease where he was paralyzed in July 2008 and he almost died (disease - polyridiculitis) - I figured it was funny that he got a disease with the name "Ridiculous" in it - go figure...How silly he his. Praise GOD - GOD loves all HIS Creatures, we annointed him with Holy Oil and prayed in JESUS' Name... A dog that was supposed to die lived and walked again in a week and a half. To GOD be the Glory! AMEN!
