General's Story & Details
General was wondering the streets when he was picked up by the local pound. Nobody came to claim him, except my mom. When my mom saw his picture on the pound website she immediately decided she was going to get him. She knew nothing about his personality, she didn’t even know what his breed was. All she knew was that he was the most adorable thing she had ever seen. I was only 5 years old when my mom brought General home (he was 2). It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with him. Whenever I cry or am sad he is there to lean on. I almost feel like he is a person. I have never seen or heard of a dog with so much compassion for others. He is hilarious! When you walk him and the wind blows a nearby leaf he jumps 2 feet in the air. It’s pretty dang funny to us, not so much for him. General plays with his sister Abby, a basenji mix, all the time. It’s hard to believe this little guy is 11 years old. I don’t see him slowing down anytime soon. He is always friendly to others. He is a bit nosey at times but its adorable. He is a bit obsessed with my and his mother. She has to hide whenever I take him and Abby out for a walk. Otherwise he will take to steps out the door and then turn into a stubborn mule he bucks and kicks and won’t move another step until my mom comes out to walk him. To be honest he isn’t the smartest thing around but he sure is adorable. I would recommend a Bassador to anyone. He is good with other dogs, well with being an inside and outside dog, loves anyone who will pet him and is extremely loyal. General will forever be in our hearts. We will always have at least one Bassador for now on.
