Willie James's Story & Details
We rescued him from a shelter in IN., we are from IL. and I was on my annual trip to KY. to visit my parents for Mother's Day. We had just lost our 17yr. old Bassett Hound Mix, Rudi, from throat cancer; when my family suggested maybe trying to adopt a pup who needed a well-deserved loving home. So I started to look online and was astounded by all the animals in shelters!!! This is something I had to do...and fortunately found some puppies still available in Battle Ground. I filled out the application and background check, and after many emails and phone calls was accepted!! Only one of the pups was left.. a little boy runt named "Sheldon". The girl there then started to tell me his mom's sad story...she was a few days from birthing when someone threw her into a ditch on the side of the road where she suffered a severely broken leg!!! Thank the Lord someone found her and took her to the shelter where she delivered 5 beautiful Beabull babies. I was sold... My aunts, me and my cousin were driving back home when I convinced them to drop me off in Lafayette, where I had already arranged for my husband from IL. to meet us. All he had saw was a picture of him and knew what breed he was, his cost and what veterinary procedures he had done..and that was enough for him also. The mom met us at the front door and was the the biggest sweetheart with a great disposition; an hour later and we were on our way with the newest addition to our family, all wrapped up in a fleece baby blanket. About six months later, our "Little Willie" had touched our lives..and out hearts.
