Joey's Story & Details
We got Joey from rescue, he's an absolute sweet heart, even after being abused!!! Short coated but very silky, big bat ears. We got him to be a companion for our Jack Russell female and they get along great-he will give ground when she's being especially pushy about things but will rough house with her when she's in a playful mood--couldn't have asked for a better fit!!! He's the ultimate lap dog, anytime you take a break he's happy to climb up and take a nap on your lap!! But he loves to run with our big dogs around the pond and chase the geese like the Jack Russell!!!!
Hi there Joey & mom,
We just added our papiox "Tia" to the site and we have never seen another mix like this until now! We also got Tia from a rescue. She was in a shelter in OK due to neglect & starvation & a local rescue in NY saved her. We have often wondered what her brothers and sisters would be like. Where did Joey come from originally (if you know...)?

Oh yea, I noticed Joey's birthday was July 1, 2006. We dont know the exact birthday of Tia, but we were told summer of 2006. So we decided July 1 :)

As far as I know Joey was born near Redding CA--he had a sister in rescue that looked very similar but her ears weren't exactly the same--he is the sweetest dog and just gets better each day!!!

Hi,
I'm tias mommy. Does joey tear apart his toys to eat the squeakers? Tia loves to get to the squeaker to eat it. Silly dog. Does joey do any tricks?

Hi, Joey's mom Cindy here---no, he's good with his toys-but he loves to unroll toliet paper and shred it!!! We haven't worked on tricks yet but his "sissy" Abbie our 11 lbs Jack russell does several, shaking hands, high fiving and "do something crazy" which is rolling over....right now we are still building Joey's confidence--he's just now starting to "talk" to us when he wants something and he's now chasing one of our big dogs-Thor around our pond--it's so funny to see this little 9 pound dog chase this 80 pound chocolate lab--Thor thinks its a great game too-THANK GOODNESS!!!!
