Hi I have a Bernese Border Collie mix and have the same concerns. I think it really comes down to what type of coat your dog has. My dog Emery is definetely set up for winter and spends work days out in the yard up to minus 12 C, keeping a eye on windchill of course. In the summer he loves to run beside the bicycle what we do first is go down to the river at the end of the street and let him go for a swim. Once he's soaked he can run without over heating, it's surprising how cool he stays. If you can take your dog swimming or keep a kid's pool around. Good Luck!
