We have a purebred Great Dane Black with white mantle and a Purebred Weimaraner silver. They breed and have produced a fantastic litter of six, 5 females and 1 male. All puppies except one are solid black one female has a white spot on chest. Black nose, black pads and black skin inside of ears.
Pups are now 1 week old. They have a large boxy head like a mastiff and are very large framed healthy and vigorous. We breed our two dogs because of temperament as they are well trained and gentle. Weimar is not hyper and the Dane is gentle. Both are extremely healthy. We will be sending in pics of the litter as soon as time permits. Litter is being raised in main area of the house so they are well socialized they are doing the puppy scientific exercises for intelligence daily.
I believe these will be a large dog based on what I see now.
front paws are already 1 1/4 inches across and pups are 12 inches long. Front and rear legs are heavy boned, nose is square (for now) and forehead is prominent.
we will be offering a few females for sale if you are interested.

Dogs Food

I was doing some research today about the food I was feeding my dogs, Nature's Receipe - Toy Breed. When they were puppies we had some trouble choosing a food to give them after their puppy food that agreed with their sensitive stomachs. I found this online and heard it was a good food. We have been feeding it to them for two years without any problem.
Then today I was doing some reading at work (shhhhh... don't tell my boss :) about dog foods and what is good and what is bad. I thougt Nature's Receipe was good as I have always heard/read that you should have meat as the first ingredient which it did, Chicken was listed first but then I read farther and it had by-products listed as third. I have read some mixed reviews when it comes to by-products.
Anyways, I have decided to switch them to Wellness Small Breed. I bought some on my way home from work today and mixed in a little with their current food. Lacey was picking out the new food and spitting the old food on the floor. I guess that means she likes it :) Luckliy, Logan is a boy and will eat anything and he picked it up and ate it.
I have a little left of their old food to continue mixing over the rest of the week and hopefully the new food will agree with them as I really want to feed them the best. Unfortunately, I have three bags of the Nature's Receipe left as we stocked up when there was a sale. I am going to see if I can donate it to a shelter or something. I am sure the store won't take it back and I really hate to waste it.
