Our Chow Shepherd the Survivor
When she was 6 weeks old we fell in love with her. She was a loveable, little ball of fluff and always ready to play.
We had her spayed at 6 months and after the operation she refused to eat for 4/5 days! After many tests we found out that her kidneys were busy giving in. Tess was in hospital for more than a week. She pulled thru and now we have a 1 year old wanna be puppy. Doing her fave things..running at full speed, digging, playing rough and being a mishtief maker until she can't anymore. She loves friendly people esp in our complex and is always happy to give them a huge tail wag. I still have her pic in my head when she was so sick but am soo happy that she's back to terrorize us for the next 12 years! She is our miracle dog. Love U Tess!! We got our ShepaChow as a puppy, and added him to our family as one of the kids. He exceptionally intelligent, he helps with bringing laundry to be washed and moving rocks from the pond. Adding him to our family was one of the best things we could have done. He watches our family closely and has a good eye for things that don't seem right. Mac does have a small issue with his special treats he gets. He tends to nip if you get to close, but he knows he has to take them outside now, so it isn't an issue. With good training they can be a great asset to any family.

I had a shepachow for 11 years. She was the best dog I have ever had. She was smart, caring and protective. She was the boss of my other pets, a cat, and a Husky, and a Newfoundland. Dogs are as good as the owners train them to be, train with positive reinforcement and be consistent, you have a good dog. Train with harsh voice tones and physical reprimand, you will get an aggresive dog. It is all up to the owner how you want your dog to turn out. I would suggest when you get a dog, adopt the one that comes up to you, the one that you feel a bond with and they to you. I wouldn't get a dog without interacting with it. I am looking to adopt another shepachow and, will always have one, best dog ever.
