I know lots of people get upset with purposely breeding mixes for profit... and I can't say I'm entirely thrilled with the thought myself. However, we may be rescuing a Chipoo. We won't know for sure until later this week. But I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the breed? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks![:D]

Mary, I responded to your other post, but I have two chipoos. They are about 1 and a half years old. They are the best dogs I have ever owned. Check them out (sands904 - Lacey & Logan). Good luck with your chipoo, if you get her. I am grateful for people who will rescue these wonderful animals.

I am picking up the little girl tomorrow. I don't know alot about her other than she's 1 1/2 years old, about 5 pounds and her family just doesn't have time for her anymore. They say she's crate trained and I made it very clear upfront that I didn't want to deal with any type of aggression issues and they've assured me that she's not in any way aggressive. (We rescued a miniature poodle who had some major aggression problems and that's just not a good mix for folks with kids). But anyway, we're all excited, so I hope everything works out! Thanks! Oh, and by the way.. your pups are adorable!!!

Great to hear you are getting her. Hopefully she will fit into your family nicely without any problems. That is about the age and size of my little girl. She is just a wonderful pup. Anyways, good luck and keep us posted.

Hello, I just wanted to share my wonderful experience. A little over a week ago I welcomed a Chipoo Pup into my home. She is 13 weeks old. I was expecting a little yappy hyper ball of energy. She is the complete opposite. She is quiet, friendly, cuddly, smartest pup I have ever come across. She is almost house broken. She has only barked twice today...once at my cat and the other time was while she was playing with her toys. I highly suggest this breed to anyone lucky enough to have the opportunity to welcome one into their home.

I got a Chipoo puppy in February and I am just in love with this dog!! She is the sweetest, smartest little thing. I have only had big dogs before, I never knew how great a little dog could be. As I am typing this she is sitting on my lap snoozing LOL! She is 3 1/2 months old. She has long, curly hair (not real frizzy like a poodle). I'm curious how long their hair gets and how much grooming they require if anyone out there has long haired Chipoos?

Welcome lindasueanne! I also have a little girl Chipoo, Lacey. She sounds a lot like your little one. Lacey is extremely smart and sweet. She loves to cuddle and sleeps right next to me at night with her head on my shoulder. She has a thinner coat with long wavy fur. It keeps growning and we have to cut it every couple of months. I bought some doggie clippers and do it in my basement. She doesn't mind it at all. I try to brush her coat every few days to keep the tangles out. I also brush her teeth every other day as our vet said small dogs can have bad dental problems if their teeth are not kept clean. She is going to be 3 years old in May...man time flies...I remember the day we brought her home like it was yesterday. Good Luck to you both and keep us posted on her progress!
