Oh No She's Not!!!!

I just found out that mommy is heading out to Knoxville this morning and she is NOT taking me with her. Can you believe it? 2 days in a row she's heading out WITHOUT me! The nerve! It's a good thing I have a doggie door so that I can come and go. One thing is for sure - she better put away all that new knitting project of hers and reading glasses or I am going to really show her who is boss!

It's Spring Almost

Well - almost. It was very sunny this morning and I laid out on the deck....ACHOOO...the bradford pears are blooming...ACHOOOOOO....that was a big one. I saw the deer come out of the woods this morning - I barked at them - They just laughed at me - they think I'm too small and far away to get them - but if I ever get off the deck I'm gonna show them who is boss!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Checkers wishes everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day

We may all be a little bit Irish today, but how many of us know how St. Patrick's Day began? How many of us know who the real St. Patrick really was?

"Well he was not a leprechaun who drank green beer or had a blarney stone or a pot of gold," explains historian William Federer, who wrote St. Patrick: The Real History of His Life, From Tragedy to Triumph. "He was actually a missionary and he converted 120,000 druids from paganism to Christianity."

In fact, Federer contends that in the fifth century A.D., Patrick did more than perhaps anyone in history to spread this new religion through Europe.

Owner Testimonials

Checkers

is a magnificent little dog. We got him in the spring of 2008 - never thinking we'd fall for a small dog...but, it was love at first site. He's been just perfect, easy to train, well behaved, well socialized. He's just delightful. We had a little scare around Valentine's day - he got very sick and they thought he might have a liver shunt. He doesn't - but he does have a small liver - only about 50% the size it should be - so he has some difficulty processing some food, but he's okay. I would get another peek-a-poo in a heartbeat!
