Designer Dog Breed Testimonials

Bowser is a two and 1/2 year old Ba-shar (half basset/half shar-pei) He is the love of my life. He weighs about 30 lbs and has big brown loving eyes, short little bowed-legs, and long floppy ears. He almost looks like a little hotdog :) and he is a big-time attention getter and show-off. His favorite things to do is cuddle (he loves 'tv time' on the couch) or he loves to play with his sister Misha (a full blooded shar-pei) they play like wild banshee's and just have a riot together. He loves his toys, but he REALLY loves chasing and killing wild animals (which is a downfall, but bassets are natural born hunters, so what can you do really...) He also loves to do tricks for treats, and when we have company because then he gets even more attention. He is obsessed with sniffing people's hair and breath. People freak out when they see him because he is so darn cute and different than any other breed of dog out there.

His name is Rufus and he is 2 and a half years old. Looks more like a beagle and weighs 25 pounds and is the cutest dog. My husband and I have decided to get another one in the future because they are the dogs we believe are perfect for us.
He is tan-brown, and white. Has MUCH energy and has the cutest little bark howl. He's so loving and affectionate and was easy to train though it's hard to get him not to tug on the leash as he wants to run free!

Jack-a-bees are WONDERFUL dogs. If you get one please be sure to have a back yard for them!

My Kashon is quiet, snuggly & content when at home with just us; but if anyone comes to visit, she gets soooo excited. She must have more of the Cairn personality because she does bark quite a bit and has an adventurous, independent spirit outdoors. She always lets us know if someone has stopped by. Oh, she watches TV & barks at any animals real or cartoon. If we bring her to the pet store, she wants to check out absolutely everything and believes everyone is her friend. She can be a bit stubborn yet at the same time, loves to please people. She's somewhat of a clown and will "talk" if she wants something. Our Kashon is about 17 pounds and does shed a little. She does require brushing but doesn't get too terrible tangled. She does have allergies, poor thing. Great small/medium-dog!

My cavestie is a very friendly girl who loves people and other dogs. She's small (about 11 pounds and short). She is a great housedog who is content to snuggle up and wait for us to return if we go out, with no destructive behaviour. She loves playing and walking but her favourite pastime is cuddling up on the sofa with the family. I have never known a dog who wants to snuggle so much! My only criticism is that she loves the sound of her own voice and loves barking and growling at passers-by and at animals on the TV. The barking is purely for attention as she loves people making a fuss of her, and beckons other dogs to play. However, it is annoying, but is this perfect little doggy's only fault.She is now 2 and has had no health problems. I cannot recommend having a cavestie enough.

purchased Zukey at 9 weeks. In purchasing a Chonzer I was hoping to get the best of both breeds. My husband has some allergies to shedding dogs and I wanted a small dog. I also did not want a "yapper." I work and have been crating her. Here is the routine I have been following: In the morning (5:30 a.m.) I walk her for about 20-30 minutes. She eats breakfast and then is outside for an hour while I get ready for work. I bring her back inside, brush her and then crate her from 7:50 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. I come home and walk her for about twenty minutes. She then returns to the crate until 4 p.m. when I return home. I take her for another 20 minute walk after I return home from work and a final walk before retiring her to the crate at about 9:30 or 10 p.m. We have intervals of play and quiet between returning home and when she is finally crated for the night. She has not had one accident and is quiet in the crate. She has learned to heel on the leash. I am really surprised at how quickly she picked up my routine and how well she has learned to heel. We live in town so she is being exposed to a lot of sounds--dogs barking, cars passing by and different people. She is a very happy puppy (active) and is generally "perky" and enjoys being petted and played with. She has learned to fetch a small toy and return it. I hope to enroll her in puppy classes in August. So far a Chonzer has lived up to all of my expectations and more. If this pup is typical of the qualities found in this dog, I am sold on this hybrid. She combines the sweetness of a Bichon and the sturdiness of a Schnauzer. She is quiet and is definitely not yappy. I have heard her bark only once and it was while she was "rough house puppy playing in the evening." She has the ability to be very active and then be able to calm down and stay quiet in her crate. She is brushed daily to keep her coat smooth--but the brush has no stray hairs in it because she does not shed.

I am looking forward to watching this pup develop.
